SSHP09 Put Those Hats On!!

I had a chuckle today when I read the title of today's challenge over at Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential -- PUT THOSE HATS ON!! (Sounds like something my mother would have said.) It's definitely been hat-wearing weather here the last couple of days, so how could I resist playing this fun challenge...
As this week's challenge is to use hats on your creation, I brought out my Winter Post image. With some die cutting, punching and embossing, this card came together very easily. What did we ever do w/o these tools?
Hope you like my take on the challenge. Stay warm and enjoy your day!
Supplies: Stamps - SU! Winter Post and Yummy; Paper - PTI - select white, generic white, SU! so saffron and soft sky, DCWV textured; Ink - Versafine antique sepia and Copic markers; Accessories - Cuttlebug embossing folder, Flower Soft, Nesties, corner punch, corner rounder punch, blue pearls and silver snowflake from my stash and well as MS ribbon that I used to fold around the corners of my image.

Snowflake

Happy Black Friday! Just wanted to share a quick card that uses one of the new Martha Stewart border/corner punch sets. I also used a Cuttlebug snowflake die and a Recollections poinsettia embellishment on which I added a pearl. Because of all the glitter I used on the snowflake as well as glittered My Mind's Eye DP, I had a hard time photographing this card. I wish I was able to get a photo showing all the sparkle. All in all I'm pleased with how this card came out.
Be careful driving today and enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend!

KLM Digital Designs - Christmas Wreath

Happy Saturday! Here my take on a clean and simple design using one of my favorite images from KLM Digital Designs called Christmas Wreath. Below is a close up of the wreath.
The pre-cut card base is one I purchased from Stampin Station years ago. (I love when I finally use items in my stash that I have been hoarding!). My wreath was cut out by hand and colored with Copics. I mounted the wreath inside the opening with dimensionals. The finishing touches include a sentiment by Stampin' Up and a red bow.
FYI, KLM is have a Thanksgiving sale! All images are 15% off until 12/1/09 -- coupon code is HT20KLM. Thanks so much for visiting today! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

S2G Birthday Girl

Happy Monday. Today I am sharing a card I made for SNR's Digi Day hosted by Shirley's 2 Girls on November 14. My image is a free digi provided by Shirley's 2 Girls for this event.
The fold used for the card base is called a Spring Card. The easy SCS tutorial for this fold found can be found here. I used a piece of SU! Razzleberry Lemonade DP for the fold. My image was cut with a Nestabilites die, colored with my Copics, and framed with coordinating Rich Razzleberry cardstock before attaching to the card base. Lots of dazzling diamonds, bling and a metal sentiment were used to finish off this cute image just in time for me to send to my little cousin!
I hope everyone has a fun week and thanks so much for stopping by!!

I really had fun playing with my new S2G Happy Turkey Day (SG 306) image. I paper pieced the sentiment as well as the football and leaf. In addition, I added paper piercing to the swirl and around the scalloped edges. For some reason, my card this week had a mind of its own... it just kept telling me that my image panel wanted to be placed at an angle and to the left of the circle (hehe)! For the circular element, I used 2 different sizes of scallop circles. To satisfy this week's wire twist, I threaded thin wire around the edge of the larger circle. I finished my card with a fancy brad.
Supplies: Stamps - Happy Turkey Day (SG306) by S2G; Paper - PTI select white, DCWV textured cardstock, SU! more mustard, soft suede as well as Recollections autumn collection DP; Ink - Copic markers for coloring, more mustard and really rust for sponging, VersaMark Pen; Accessories - Clear EP, dimensionals, Recollections fancy brad from the autumn collection, MM wire, various circle punches and Nestabilities rectangular scallop die.
Hope you like my take on this week's challenge. Here's some more inspiration from the other DT members:
